I Love KSL!

So I am really excited about my latest KSL purchase! 160 baby clothes items for $40 bucks! That is $.25 a piece! Oh yeah! And the clothes were really cute! Here are a few pics of Mac in some of his new outfits.

Smiles

We have been waiting and waiting for Mackie to smile and Grandma Hair got the first smile on Sunday, Oct. 3 when she was talking about 2,000 balls! He was sucking on his binki and lost it because he was smiling so big. We ran over to see and got him to smile a few more times that night. We were so excited and are pretty sure he will love balls and playing sports!! Over the next 4 days Les and I put on the three ring circus trying to get him to smile and finally on Thursday, Oct. 7 he smiled at us again! Yay! We captured a few pics that night but he was moving so they are blurry, but we had to get pictures from some of his first smiles!

Over the past 7 weeks Mac has changed from looking like a cute little monkey to a beautiful little boy.
  • He has already doubled his weight and now weighs 10lbs. He has the chubbiest cheeks, a double chin, boobies, a belly, and fat rolls on his wrists and thighs! We love our big boy!
  • He has found his tongue and loves to play with it whenever he has the chance to.
  • His forehead and jaw are squaring up.
  • Although everyone said he would lose it, he hasn’t lost any of his gorgeous locks yet! YAY!!!! It looks a little thinner though since his head has grown so much and has lightened up from the almost black shade at birth to brown.
  • His eyes are changing but are still indiscernible. However, we won’t be surprised when they end up brown like both of his parents.
  • He enjoys tummy time and can hold his head up.  He can also move his head from one side to the other.
  • Instead of looking above or to the side of us, he now stares right at us!
  • He eats every three hours in the day and is sleeping well at night…although some nights are better than others!
  • He is still getting mistaken for a girl everywhere we go…
  • Thankfully, he doesn’t cry much anymore when we give him baths or change his diapers.

Circus!

Since before I can remember our Hair family has been going to the circus every year! So true to Hair tradition, we went again this year and had such a great time! As usual, we started out at Crown Burger for dinner. Yum! After we ate, candy bags were distributed into secret pockets so we could sneak them past the security bag checkers. Then we all sat together and enjoyed "The Greatest Show On Earth," eating our candy and watching our aunts and uncles get hit up for $20 snow cones and $10 cotton candy! Gotta love the circus!

You know you are sleep deprived when.....

  • You go to the Laundromat and move the laundry from one washing machine to another…thinking it is a dryer…and you just run it again because you already paid for the load…
  • You go to the store to buy stuff to make dinner and you get home and realize you left the pork roast at the checkout stand and there is no more dinner...
  • Your sister-in-law is on her way to the temple and you ask her if she is doing baptisms since you still think she is not yet endowed…and you attended her temple sealing a year and a half ago…
  • The family says, “We’ll see you tomorrow” and you say, “For what?” and it is your sister-in-law’s mission farewell…

No longer a preemie

It is crazy how your baby practically grows in front of your eyes! When Mac was 4 weeks old we had to retire his preemie clothes and now we are proud to say Mac has a double chin and the most kissable cheeks! Yesterday at church one member saw Mac for the first time and said, “Oh! He looks normal!” So I said, “What did you think he would look like!?!” And he said, “An ugly newborn!” We are proud to say we have a “normal” looking baby now! It is exciting to see him grow but at the same time it makes me sad because he is changing so fast. I just want him to stay small forever! I and am so lucky to be a mom.
